In 2022, beech showed a low seed production (no or partial mast) with individual scattered stands with half mast. The oaks generally produced many fruits (half and full mast) with the notable exception of the Schaffhausen region where hardly any seeds were produced (no or partial mast). Silver firs showed high seed production (half and full mast) throughout Switzerland at all altitudes. Spruces produced only a few seeds throughout Switzerland, with more than 25% of stands at lower altitudes, especially in the Lake Constance region, showing half mast.
