The main tree species, beech, spruce and silver fir, produced practically no or only a few fruits nationwide (no mast), the oaks generally only a few seeds (partial mast). Individual observations of full mast of spruce in the upper Leventina and of oaks in the Central Plateau and in the Valais show deviations from the overall trend.
