Annual reports on seed mast of the main tree species

The annual mast reports provide an overview of seed production or mast intensity of the main tree species beech, oak, Norway spruce and silver fir. The seed production is shown nationwide in terms of quantity by means of simulated maps.

The basis for this is the observations of WSL staff and other reporters on the situation of seed production from all parts of Switzerland, whereby a distinction is made between the four states of fattening failure, blast fattening, half fattening and full fattening.

Observations on semen production will soon be able to be reported directly with our app (web app, Android, iPhone).

Detailed information on the modelling of nationwide semen production can be found here.
